I was born and have lived my entire life in Lynn Township, except for the 4 years I attended Albright College in Reading, PA, earning a BS degree in Business Management. While at Albright, I played four years of collegiate football, one year of track, and after my last football season, I played on the Rugby team. My senior year, I was awarded the “Team Player” of the year award on the football team. After college was over, I moved back home but continued my association with Reading, playing Rugby for Reading's club team and to visit my beautiful future wife, Hilary.
Beginning with the construction of the golf course in 1993, I have worked for our family business, Olde Homestead Golf Club, and prior to college I had experience in almost every position, except management. It was a natural progression after college, to continue to learn the family business, working my way up to my present position of General Manager. I am proud that the golf course has maintained its emphasis on hiring and buying locally.
While working at Olde Homestead, I have been named "One of the Top Twenty Business People Under the Age of Forty" in eastern PA by the Eastern PA Business Journal and was featured on CNBC's prime time show "On The Money" for the use of technology in golf. In 2008 I spoke at the Fore! Reservations National Conference in Chicago on the "Future of Web Utilization," and was a social media panelist at the same conference in 2010. I was asked to be part of the Steering Committee for FORE! Reservations; the largest software provider in the Golf Industry. In February of this year, I presented on "Managing Tee Time Supply and Demand to Maximize Yield" at the National Golf Course Owner's Association Conference along with Steve Harker from Disney Golf and Rick Shoemaker who manages the PGA's TPC courses. In March 2011, I was a panelist for the session: “Social Media 102: Producing Positive Results by Effectively Managing your Brand Online”, at Golf Inc’s National Conference.
Shortly after I came home from college I started attending The Board of Supervisors meetings. I also followed issues that came up requiring input from other Township Boards, and began attending meetings for the Sewer Authority and Planning Commission. I certainly didn't make every meeting, but I had an interest in what they were doing and how the process of government worked. Now after six years of going to meetings, I have decided that instead of sitting on the sidelines (and with some encouragement from my wife and community members) I have decided to run for Lynn Township Supervisor. I hope that you will consider supporting me in my bid to represent you in office.
